I honestly can't believe I'm sat here typing this but Huggled is officially one year old! I originally started this blog as a way to escape university life and blogging seemed the ideal hobby for me. I never thought this hobby would last a year, I usually give up after a few months but here we are. In order to celebrate I'd love to look back on some things I've learnt and tell you what the future has in store!
In this past year I've learnt how important it is to take a break in blogging. It's really nice to take a step back from my laptop, enjoy time with my family and friends and it's the best way to solve writers block. Sometimes we spend far too much time worrying about our next posts when all we need to do is step away for a couple of days, get a bit of inspiration from the things we do in that rest period.
I learnt that you don't have to be a make-up expert to blog, you just have to be interested and willing to learn. I love to find products that are easy to use for beginners and share with those that like me, are not experts in the field of highlighters and contouring! There's no pressure to be perfect with perfect photography, everything is a learning experience. It's all about the content and everything else is extra.
So where wold I like to go with this blog in the future? I'd love to have the opportunity to work with more companies trying their products out and reviewing them. This is definitely a goal of mine, to make contacts and work on them to bring some good content to my blog. I also think that a face lift is in order. I plan to redesign Huggled since it has had the same theme for a year now. I'll do this with the help of a template designer and my partner (Matthew) since my knowledge of HTML is very limited.
A huge goal of mine is to get to know the blogging community and start to make some friends. This past year I haven't taken the time to get to know my readers because I have been so set on getting it off the ground. So if you're reading this please don't hesitate to message me I would love to get to know my readers. I've followed many of you on social media but now is the time to gather all my confidence and get to know you all.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who regularly visits my blog! Love, Lauren x
