bareMinerals Get Started® Complexion Kit

January 22, 2016

Anyone who knows me will know that I love bareMinerals. I started using their products a year ago and I honestly have not looked back since! For those of you who aren't familiar with bareMinerals their make-up is made purely from minerals which are supposed to be friendly for your skin, hopefully causing you less break outs!
This particular kit is the bareMinerals Get Started ® Complexion Kit and was my first purchase from them. The product is available in 6 different shades and has a value of £50 but as a starter kit you get them all for just £39. Included within the complexion kit is:
  • Prime Time™ Foundation Primer, size 15ml
  • ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation in Fairly Light, size 2g
  • MATTE SPF 15 Foundation in Fairly Light, size 1.5g
  • Warmth All-Over Face Color, size 0.57g
  • Mineral Veil® Finishing Powder, size 0.75g
  • Flawless Application Face Brush (made from goat hair)
  • Keep-sake Makeup Clutch
It comes complete with instructions on how to apply and use their products which are simple and easy to follow. When it comes to the foundation the more you like the more you have to build it up but I find 2 coats are enough. Bellow are a few simple instructions and tips which I've learnt  just to prove how easy it is:
  1. Apply a pea sized amount of Foundation Primer to the whole face
  2. Using an eye shadow brush I like to apply the Foundation to any blemishes to conceal them
  3. Using circular motions with your brush (provided) apply either the Original or Matte Foundation to face (Tip: Use the Matte Foundation for an oily T-zone and use Original for everywhere else it works wonders)
  4. Using a tiny amount of Warmth All-Over Face Color apply with a brush to your cheek bone to give you a bit of colour
  5. Apply the Finishing power over the top for a shine
Pros:
  • The starter kit lasted me at least 2-3 months
  • Good quality brushes with a lovely case to keep your make-up in
Cons:
  • Only contains one brush so you will need to buy others if you don't already have some
  • Doesn't contain a concealer (although as stated above the foundation works just as well)
