Weekly Summary #6 - I'm a second year!

September 26, 2016

Hello lovelies,

It occurred to me that I haven't done a weekly summary for a while and I have a lot to share with you all so I've decided to revive them. So last week was my first week back at university I've had all my introductory lessons back and all my essential training. My essential training needs to be done every year and consists of Basic Life Support and Moving and Handling which are very important. I am officially a second year student nurse, I even have new stripes:

The stripes go on my uniform and are a way for everyone in the community/hospital to identify what level of training you're in. This year is going to be a difficult one! In second year I will have assignments, debates, presentations and a drug calculations exam where I have to get 100% (without a calculator) to pass. On Tuesday I start my next placement which is Health Visiting for 8 weeks and 2 weeks with the Endocrine community nurses which I can't wait for.

So before everything gets serious my boyfriend came to Leeds to both keep me company and start the university year off right by eating lots of italian food. Not only did I eat the whole (above) lasagna accompanied by garlic bread to myself, but the next night we ordered the biggest pizza order you will ever see from dominos.

My 'new semester resolution' is to become a lot more healthy. I've tried to eat a wider range of food making sure I've got fruit for snacks rather than chocolate bars and I'm going to take up yoga. I don't necessarily have a lot of time to join a class but if I can get down to the yoga society meetings I will and I will also be self learning it at home as I know a lot of lovely yoga bloggers.

  4. Good luck with your second year as I reckon it will be way tough! I respect anyone who is in the medical field, I can't do it...I get dizzy at the sight of blood. :-(

  7. I've been meaning to get into yoga for awhile now. It would be a great way to destress. Please share when you get into it what you do and any tips you got!
Second year is so exciting! School's starting up again for me as well at UW, and though I'm excited to be back I also am not looking forward to another grueling year. Maybe I should get some pizza and lasagna too haha
