Benefit Gimme Brow - Fuller, Natural looking brows

January 12, 2017

Hello lovelies,

When it comes to eyebrows I am a little bit useless. I have never touched my eyebrows other than getting them threaded every now and again. The reason behind this is because they are so pale you couldn't see them even if there was a hair or two out of place. Recently I've been wanting to experiment with my eyebrows so after visiting the Benefit counter in boots they recommended I try their Gimme Brow fibre gel.

This brow volumizing gel is award winning and aims to turn barely-there brows into fuller-looking brows which still look natural. Benefit sell this for £18.50 but you could possibly find it cheaper elsewhere. It comes in 3 shades: Light, Medium and Deep. You may be wondering how you know what shade you are, I'll explain them below:

- 1 Light: For platinum to light blonde hair
- 3 Medium: For golden blonde to medium brown hair
- 5 Deep: For dark brown to black hair

Above is a picture of the packaging and the Gimme Brow tube, since I'm light blonde and quite pale I have chosen 1 Light. To apply Gimme Brow I also use a little eyebrow brush (left) which is NOT included. I use this to brush out any excess product and even them up. Here's how to apply the product:

- Using short pressing motions stroke the brush tip along the brow towards the middle of your face (think of it like back combing your brows)
- Then, working from your nose outwards go back over your brows to flatten and shape the hairs
- Tip: I like to go over with a brow brush to even out and shape my brows it also helps if you find you have put a bit too much product on. Please note this brush is not included.

It's as simple as that. If you would rather watch this being done you can click here to see the Benefit tutorial.

Above is a before and after of my eyebrows after just one application. As you can see my eyebrows fade out but Gimme Brow makes them naturally fuller looking. I apologise for the camera quality it doesn't give the product much justice. There is nothing stopping more experienced people from adding another coat to build up volume or even taking a pencil to line them for definition. It's very much personal preference.

In short: For a beginner this is the perfect product to play with and can be built up once you get used to it. I would repurchase this product and I will be using this in my everyday make-up routine. Links for the product are included below.

  13. I've always wondered whether to give this a go. I'm guilty of over-plucking my brows when I was in my teens and am only just happy with them again after a few years of threading. Love that you can build this up.
