My (slightly late) 2017 goals!

January 07, 2017

Hello lovelies,

Every year I make a new years resolution and every year I fail to achieve them because they are either unrealistic or I don't have the motivation to achieve them. This year - even though it's slightly late - I have come up with some realistic goals I would like to achieve!

Goal 1
Get fit and raise money doing it! Last year my "auntie" died of cancer and this year myself and my family would love to take part in Race for Life 5K run in memory of her to raise money for Cancer Research UK. As well as Race for Life me, my boyfriend and his sister would love to do a charity colour run to raise money for another charity of our choices. I'm in need of a new hobby that will keep me fit and I think charity runs is just the way to motivate me to get fit!

Goal 2
Travel the UK! University life doesn't leave me with a lot of money to go abroad and chase the sun so this year my goal is to find all the beautiful places closer to home. I'd love to visit cities like London, Manchester and Edinburgh and maybe even the lake district. If I'm lucky there might be a little bit of sun whilst I'm exploring!

Goal 3
Learn to cook and eat a different variety of foods! I live off microwave meals and the same 3 dishes. This year I will be getting my own flat with a gorgeous kitchen where I can get the cook book out and learn to cook different things. Not only is this better for my health but better for my taste buds! I need to start eating more foods so this year I will be more open to different foods and try something new on the menus!

Goal 4
Look after myself! Last year I struggled with anxiety and it was and still is awful. This year is the year that I put myself first and look after myself. This includes the occasional treat and pamper session. It also includes saying no to situations I don't want to do and making new friends who are a good influence on me. As well as all of that I am going to drink more, sleep better and look after my health.

Goal 5
Do well in uni! In 2017 I will be completing my second year of nursing and entering my third and final year. I want to do the best I can so uni needs to be at the top of my mind. I need to be more organised and motivated to do well with my studies.

What are your goals for 2017? Lauren x

  7. Woah, so cool to know that you're a nursing student. It was actually my first choice but suddenly went to business management. I know it's hard to be a nursing student, I've seen lots struggling. But girl, you can do this! You will be better and better. It's also my goal to do better in college this year, I'm on my third year so it's definitely a challenge. Just spend most of your time in library, you'll be at your most productive when you're there.

Good luck on these goals. I know you can do all of these!

  8. Good luck on all of your goals! Guuurl you should be staying away from those microwave meals, they're awful! I know what it's like though because I used to do that but you can really taste the difference when you have good homemade food :D

  9. Good luck in achieving all your goals! I also fail at achieving resolutions every year because life happens and I become lazy along the way. This year, I also set myself realistic goals that I see are achievable. I already started on some and I hope I can keep up the momentum! :)
