Butter Bear Review!

February 11, 2017

Hello lovelies,

Another bath bomb review! This cute little fella was part of LUSH's 2016 Christmas range, which unfortunately means it won't be available now, however they do have a bath bomb version of it. Anyway, this particular bear is a regular Christmas product which costs around £1.95 per bear! The main ingredients are cocoa butter, ylang ylang oil, citric acid and other ingredients such as perfumes.

So I bought this cute bear because he smells gorgeous and I was really excited to use him. In store they advertise this bear as being great for dry, sensitive or irritated skin.  The ylang ylang oil is also used to treat stress, depression and relieves anger, panic and fear. So basically, it's moisturising and relaxing.

I knew this bear wouldn't look too pretty when dissolved because it's not a bright colour, which was a shame. I also couldn't notice the scent after it had dissolved either which was slightly disappointing! However, that being said it left a buttery film on my skin which made my skin feel luxuriously soft afterwards. Just be careful getting out of the bath through, as it does make it slippy!

Basically: It isn't pretty, it doesn't smell as good when dissolved in water but it is very good for dry skin and I was slightly more relaxed. But whether that was the effects of the warm water, or this bath bomb I'm not so sure.

If you would like to try this bath bomb unfortunately the bear is seasonal but they do a bath bomb called Butterball which is the exact same!  You can find the link below. Thank you for reading, Lauren x

  1. When I used to have a bath, I used this bath bomb a lot (I believe they release it every Christmas) and I really like its effect on my skin, even though it goes away within the next shower! Yet, as you said, it can look a little bit boring when compared to the other Lush Bath Bombs!

    1. Yeah there's no doubt that it makes your skin feel wonderfully soft! It just doesn't have that 'wow factor' like the other bath bombs.

  2. I love Lush bath bombs, but haven't tried this one, though it looks adorable. So sad that the bear form is only seasonal.

  10. ummm I know Ylang Ylang essential oil and oil, but never heard of the soap. Quite interesting there. This product is so great for massage and relaxing stuff i agree. Though, i only use the Essential oil for my hair care. Love it.

  17. I bought so many presents for people from LUSH this year and always saw the bear and bypassed it because the price was too good to be true! Definitely set straight for next year!

    1. If you need something that is nice and moisturising then I recommend it, but if you want something that is pretty, not so much!
