Films I Watched in February

February 26, 2017

Hello lovelies, here is a collection of the films I watched this month along with a brief synopsis and my thoughts:

Valentines Day (2010)
"Intertwining couples and singles in Los Angeles break-up and make-up based on the pressures and expectations of Valentines Day."

This film is a lot like Love Actually and it has an amazing cast full of lots of well known actors and actresses. I really enjoyed watching this film even if I was on my own.
My rating:

The Other Side of the Door (2016)
"After her young son is killed in a tragic accident, a woman learns of a ritual which will bring him back to say goodbye, but when she disobeys a sacred warning, she upsets the balance between life and death."

I love a good horror film. Although I enjoyed this film it was a bit predictable and more jumpy than it was scary. The ending was really good, it had me shouting at the TV!
My rating:

Cell (2016)
"Based on the novel by Stephen King. When a mysterious cell phone signal causes apocalyptic chaos, an artist is determined to reunite with his young son in New England."

Okay I absolutely love Stephen King and I found this film really interesting and captivating but I had to give it a low rating because of the ending. I've never read the book but the ending in this film felt very rushed and it left me really confused. If you love 'zombie' films this one may be for you.
My rating:

John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
"After returning to the criminal underworld to repay a debt, John Wick discovers that a large bounty has been put on his life."

I was a huge fan of the first film and this one was even better. The fight scenes were brutal, but amazing and the ending was left open so I am super excited for a John Wick: Chapter 3. Praying this actually happens because I need to feed my Keanu Reeves obsession.
My rating:

Shrek Forever After (2010)
"Rumpelstiltskin tricks a mid-life crisis burdened Shrek into allowing himself to be erased from existence and cast in a dark alternate timeline where Rumpel rules supreme."

I couldn't not watch this when it was on BBC in the middle of the month. I secretly love these films as I love the hidden adult humour (and sometimes even the silly humour) this is the third film in the series, not as good as the second but still a cracker,
My rating:

Friend Request (2016)
"When a college student unfriends a mysterious girl online, she finds herself fighting a demonic presence that wants to make her lonely by killing her closest friends."

I love a good horror movie as you might have guessed by now. This was an interesting story line kept me interested but actually it wasn't that scary... Although it didn't have me scared I did love the plot and it was very cleverly made.
My rating:

13 Cameras (2015)
"Claire and Ryan, a newlywed couple, move into a new house across the country, only to find out that their marital issues are the least of their problems. Unbeknown to them, their grim and lascivious landlord has been spying on them from day one."

This film was really weird, not scary, just weird. The actor playing the creepy landlord plays a really good role and he is super creepy. The worst part of this film is the ending, without spoiling it for you all it is really not what you would expect and it left me in utter shock.
My rating:

Have you watched any of these films, if so let me know your thoughts. Thank you for reading, Lauren x
