Yoga with Adriene's #yogarevolution - Halfway!

March 19, 2017

Hello lovelies,

I have something really exciting to share with you all. Over the past couple of months I have been dabbling in the art of Yoga! I haven't been able to attend classes due to a busy timetable but I have found something even better. Yoga with Adriene is a blog and YouTube channel ran by (as you may have guessed) Adriene!

She is amazing, she posts yoga tutorials for different ages and what I especially love is how she will show you different variations of one pose so if you're a beginner she will show you simplified versions. If you're more experienced, she will show you how to vary the pose. This is super helpful for me. Adriene has done a 31 day yoga challenge called #yogarevolution which I thought I would try out.

I'm happy to announce that I am (as the title suggests) halfway through it! This challenge is amazing I honestly can't rave about it enough. I am starting to love yoga which helps me with my anxiety and scoliosis. All the equipment you need to participate in this challenge is:
  • A yoga mat
  • A blanket/towel
I am currently on day 15 and I must say I am absolutely loving it. I'm gradually learning all the different poses and starting to come up with my own practices doing what feels best for me. I have scoliosis (a bad back) and this really helps to relieve the pain because it isn't manic but you're still building up strength. I am starting to notice that I can do the plank for a lot longer now than I used too.

I strongly recommend you check out her youtube channel and blog/website below she does yoga for different types of pain, time of day and different length practices etc.  I will check back in with you once I have completed my journey! Thanks for reading, Lauren x

    1. I'm the same but I don't really have the confidence to go to classes so this is an excellent alternative! Maybe on day I can go to classes too!

  2. I've tried yoga before, but didn't quite have the flexibility and head for the serenity that seems to come with it.

It's great that you're halfway through the challenge! You've stuck to your mat and getting results. Soon, if you continue, as a challenge to yourself, you should attend a class- I think you'll ultimately grow as a person from it.

How long can you plank for now? Your core strength must be improving greatly!

    Lovely post!

  3. I don't have the flexibility either but it's a work in progress at the moment. I hope so too, as for the plank I would have to time it but it's a lot better than the 10 seconds I used to do before flopping on the floor hahaha.
