A Week in Rhodes

July 18, 2017

Hello lovelies,

Regular readers may know that I recently spent a week on holiday in Rhodes, Greece. I went with my boyfriend (Matthew) who had already been to Rhodes, but it was my first time. I've been to other Greek islands but never Rhodes so it was a really lovely experience, plus out first holiday on our own! I stayed in Mitsis Petit  Palais which is a gorgeous all-inclusive hotel, which I 100% recommend to anyone staying in Rhodes.

We were a 5 minute walk from the beach, as you can see in the photo above they are rocky beaches so if you aren't keen this part of Rhodes probably isn't for you. Parts are pebbles and others are shingle. If you visit Rhodes you definitely need to watch the sunset, as you can see above it's absolutely gorgeous. The sun sets behind another island and the colours are gorgeous.

The hotel we stayed in was a 30 minute walk to Rhodes Town and along the way their are some gorgeous sights. You walk past all the docks with boats and cruise liners moored up, people offer you rides on their boats for a fee. You also walk past a couple of ruins, you can climb the steps to the top and have a lovely view of the sea. Matthew loved them!

One of the boats moored up is actually a shop! Pictured above is one of two boats which acts as a shop. Sadly in the picture the shop is closed, but when it is open the lady puts lights on (which look gorgeous in the dark) and puts a plank out for you to board and browse. Both boats sell shells, sea sponges and other beach related items and it's just gorgeous to see because they're so unique!

Rhodes Town (pictured above) is absolutely gorgeous and a must see if you're visiting! The town is surrounded by high castle walls and all the side streets are cobbled paths. Very old fashioned! There are rows of shops selling jewellery, bags, glasses, soaps, leather goods, food etc. Above the shops are restaurants where you can sit and eat with a lovely view of the harbour outside the high walls. I bought myself an Italian Leather backpack and a silver bracelet with a Hamsa hand on it. There is something for everybody there.

Five minutes down the road from out hotel was Casino Rodos, a massive casino which is absolutely gorgeous at night. Although  I would love to go in the casino we didn't because sadly I don't have a clue how to play any of the games and I would rather learn before I go gambling haha. But, if casinos are your thing you won't miss this place.

All-in-all I loved my week in Rhodes. I spent my days by the pool getting a tan and at night we would go for walks to watch the sunset or go to the town. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the area, lots of night time boat rides and there is a small aquarium which we visited but it is very small so be warned!

Thank you for reading, Lauren x

    1. It was stunning, it's more of a stay by the pool and tan holiday but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a few sights to see at night!
