Films I Watched In July

July 31, 2017

Hello lovelies, here is a collection of the films I watched this month along with a brief synopsis and my thoughts:

The Age of Adaline (2015)
I absolutely love this film! Adaline died in a terrible accident but lightening brought her back to life and since then she hasn't aged a day. She has to move every decade to ensure no one realises her secret, which means she always loses friends and can never find love. In the film she meets a man and it follows their story! I absolutely love the cast, Blake Lively is great as Adaline and the story is just perfect. The ending will bring a little tear from your eye and leave you feeling warm!

My rating:

Magic Mike (2012)
This is probably going to be very controversial but I haven't seen this film before and decided to give it a go this weekend. I didn't like it at all... I'll admit, bits were funny and made me giggle but the story kind of bored me in places... If you like Tatum stripping then this is the film for you but I honestly wasn't a fan, I found it very cheesy and the story wasn't grabbing my attention. In all honesty I think I missed the ending because I was too busy on my phone... Sorry!

My rating:

13 Going on 30 (2004)
A 13-year-old girl wishes that she was older and her dream comes true when she wakes up as a 30-year-old woman! This film is an oldie but a goldie, it's absolutely hilarious and such an amazing chic flick. I watched it with my mum and didn't stop smiling all the way through, even my dad laughed at parts of it! A short but sweet review, but it is literally an amazing stereotypical chic flick!

My rating:

A Street Cat Named Bob (2016)
This film has by far been the best film I have seen in a while. The film is based on a very well known true story in which a cat finds a homeless man and changes his life forever. The actual cat plays himself in parts of the film which is even more amazing. The story is so touching and the actors really play a great part, it was such an emotional film, it had tears threatening to leak out! I 100% recommend this film it is great!

My rating:

Nocturnal Animals (2016)
My mum suggested we watch this after reading good reviews about it. The film is based on a woman whose second husband travels a lot, her first husband sends her a manuscript for his new book which is about a man going on a trip with his wife and daughter which suddenly turns sinister. Reading the  book makes the main character relive her past... This film is very strange, but I oddly liked it. There's a lot to take in... It changes from past to present to the story she is reading so you have to keep up (which my dad found hard). The ending is rather confusing and was quite frustrating for me!

  2. 13 Going on 30 has to be one of my favourite films ever I think. It's really funny and cute, so it's the perfect feel-good film for me!

One of my friends watched Nocturnal Animals and said the same about the ending, so I might give seeing that a miss to be honest. I hate being left confused with 35638 unanswered questions!
