How I Look After and Style my hair!*
July 22, 2017Hello lovelies,
I always talk about make-up and skin care but I never actually mention what I do with my hair... So, I want to talk about how I style my hair on a usual day and how I look after it to make sure it doesn't get damaged! I regularly dye my hair and use heat to style it so it's important for me to look after it so it doesn't feel dry or get split ends.
First of all it's important to have good tools! Most days I straighten my hair and it's important to have a good quality straightener. I'd recommend GHD, Panasonic and TRESemmé as some great brands. Panasonic have a great set of hair straighteners called EH-HS95 with Nanoe Technology for £199.99! It features 5 temperature settings (150/170/180/190/200°C) so you can decide which will be best for the condition of your hair. The power supply cuts off after 60 minutes for those forgetful people and it has ceramic coated plates which glide over your hair leaving it silky smooth. For more details click here! GHD and TRESemmé do a great range of curlers whether it's the traditional curlers you like or a curling wand.
My favourite shampoo and conditioner at the moment is Garnier Colour Illuminator which is designed to protect coloured hair and smells absolutely gorgeous! I wash my hair every other day because I'm often told there is such thing as washing too much! Every other (other) wash I like to use Provoke Touch of Silver Shampoo just to neutralise brassy tones and brighten my blonde and silver highlights as my hair tends to go reddish. This shampoo works wonders, you can read my brief review here! I also like to use an argan oil heat protection spray on damp hair before blow drying and heat styling, the brand I use can be purchased for £1 from pound land, I reviewed the product here. The last product I use is the occasional hair mask, I favour ones with argan oil in the ingredients because it works wonders on my hair and keeps split ends at bay.
When it comes to styling my hair I am a huge fan of having my hair down. Mainly because I have it up for work so I like a change on weekends. Above you can see my hair styled straight and curly. When I curl my hair I use a bit of hair spray, I don't favour a particular brand of hair spray thought as I don't use it often enough to have developed a favourite! I always like to straighten my hair if I'm wearing it straight because I love the sleek shiny look hair straighteners give my hair. If I'm curling hair I like to use a wand for lose curls. If I'm wearing my hair up I love to use an Invisibobble rather than a normal hair tie because it leaves less of a kink, it doesn't cause split ends and I don't get headaches as often when I scrape my hair back for work, which is one of the promises on the side of the box!

I either wear my hair up in a bun or let it down but my hair never ever holds the curl. It doesn't matter if I use a hair spray or not, it goes straight again within hours.

It's amazing, I definitely recommend them, also, if they stretch you just plop them in boiled water and they go back to usual size!
DeleteI'm so incredibly rubbish with my hair and could definitely do with some tips so this was a really interesting review for me. I'd love to try GHD curlers but they're just so pricey!

There are cheaper versions but in my personal experience they have broken quicker... So maybe sometimes it's better to spend a bit of money!
DeleteI love your hair! So beautiful!

They're amazing, I have only recently started doing stuff with my hair other than just brushing it!
DeleteYour hair looks amazing, in summer all I do is have my hair in a bun or a braid at one side, it's just too difficult to style them when the weather is hot. Invisibobble sounds great for me, will check it asap!

It's a fabulous product!
DeleteI love using the Tresemme hairspray because they smell great and don't leave that crunchy feeling in my hair! Although ever since I bleached my hair, I tend to stay away from the heat styling tools, haha.
ReplyDeleteSam / My Beauty Cloud
Yeah that crunchy feeling is awful!
DeleteFunnily enough I've recently discovered an argan oil heat protection spray myself and I'm loving it! Had no idea you could pick one up for £1 though! x
