Films I watched in September

September 28, 2017

Hello lovelies, here is a collection of the films I watched this month along with a brief synopsis and my thoughts:

Mothers Day (2016)

This film is about a number of characters/people, who are celebrating mothers day in different ways. One doesn't know her mum, the other is sharing her children with their new step-mum and another is trying to tell her racist mum she is married to an Indian man. The cast is amazing, one of the best I've seen for such a big rom-com! It's such a fun film, it makes me laugh every time I watch it! It really reminds us of why we should cherish our mothers and the way the characters stories interlink is awesome, reminds me of love actually!

My rating:

Passengers (2016)
This film is a sci fi drama which is so unlike what I would usually watch but I'm so glad I did. It is about a ship travelling through space with 5,000 passengers and crew on board in hibernation pods, supposedly asleep until 4 months before landing on a new planet. An asteroid hits the ship and causes a pod to malfunction and awakens a man 90 years too early! After a year of living alone on this ship he decides to awaken a girl who he has grown fond of and then the film goes on to show how the two of them live alone and try to save the malfunctioning ship together. This film is amazing. It's funny and it's romantic, it's amazing how they have thought it all up! The ending is especially amazing. Plus, the cast is absolutely amazing with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt as the main characters.

Ouija: Origins of Evil (2016)
I decided to give a scary film a go and seriously regretted it. I don't mind scary films, it takes a lot to scare me. This film was pants! It's about a mum and her two daughters who do séance scam readings and buy a Ouija board to add to their 'performance'. The youngest daughter breaks a rule and gets possessed by a spirit who wreaks havoc. Personally I didn't like the film, I thought it took too long to get into, didn't make much sense and was just really weird in general. Plus, super rubbish ending!

My rating:

IT (2017)
This has been the film to watch so I decided to go see it in cinema. It's based on the Stephen King book about a clown terrorising the small town of Derry. I believe it's the first of two films as it only covered half the book, not that it stuck to the plot... It was a little disappointing it didn't stick to the book but it was still a great film. I didn't find it too scary, more creepy (a little funny) and very jumpy! But then again it takes a lot to scare me! It's a must see film, I just hope you like clowns!
